Every pointer or finger event is sampled at screen rate: position, drag distance from where you first pressed, and real pen pressure when your device reports it.
Model
Four channels come out of that stream — pressure, velocity, jerk and cadence — and a weighted mix produces the index. It rises fast under mashing and decays on its own when you ease off.
